January 2020 program

  • Dates: Monday 20 – Wednesday 22 January
  • Location: Footscray Park Campus
  • Hours: 9am–3.30pm
  • Aftercare 3.30pm–5.30pm

Our experienced coaches are VU students. Many of them are enrolled in the College of Sport and Exercise Science, studying degree programs including:

  • Bachelor of Sport Science

  • Master of Sports Science (Football Performance).

Junior Vultures programs

Our Junior programs cater for primary-school-aged children (5 – 12 years). Children will be grouped according to age and skill level.

Your child can choose from one of our programs at two locations in Footscray, or mix and match.

When you register your child for a full week program, they'll receive a VU sports camp T-shirt, a certificate of participation and have the chance at winning prizes along the way!

You can register your child for a full-week program or individual days.

For our junior programs, the following costs apply:

  • $210 for full-week programs (you can mix and match programs)
  • $58.50 per single day
  • $9 aftercare per child, per day

Please note: Our programs cannot be claimed on the Child Care Benefit (CCB) claim.

For the teen program costs are $200 for three days.

 

Youth (teen) program :

Our High Performance Youth Training is a program for secondary-school-aged students offered at our Footscray Park Campus on selected holidays.

It runs for three full days, and focuses on strength and conditioning. It is not offered every holiday – check the web page for more information.

 

What you will learn

On-pitch skills :

Your child will be individually assessed and placed with players of a similar age and skill level. They will take part in drills, one-on-one simulations, small-sided games and common conditioning activities specific to soccer.

When the ref’s final whistle blows, kids will walk off pitch with:

  • improved crucial game skills including:
    • kicking
    • passing
    • dribbling
    • shooting (penalties and simulated game)
  • greater game awareness and strategy such as:
    • attacking and defending skills
    • formations
    • one-on-one play
    • side-throws
    • corner kicks
    • heading
    • blocking
    • shooting.

What to bring

To get set for a week of activities, your child will need:

  • soccer boots (optional) or runners
  • shorts
  • t-shirt
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • water bottle
  • bathers
  • towel
  • thongs
  • snacks
  • healthy lunch (or money to buy lunch from the cafeteria located on campus).

Terms & Conditions

Children with asthma, anaphylaxis or allergies must submit:

  • Asthma, Allergy or Anaphylaxis Action Plan with a coloured photo, issued by a doctor/medical professional
  • Risk Minimisation Plan completed by a parent/guardian/carer
  • Medication Authorisation Form to accompany medication given each day to program staff.

Children with medications to be administered (including any Ventolin/inhalers, Panadol, Ritalin, etc) must submit:

  • medication each day to program staff
  • Medication Authorisation Form to accompany it.

Children with behavioural concerns should submit:

  • Behaviour Management Plan from school
  • Behaviour Management Plan template filled in, if there isn't a plan in place at school
